FDA Prior Notice filing service

FDA must receive Prior Notice before food, including animal food and dietary supplements, arrives in the United States: 2 hours ahead by road, 4 by rail or air, 8 by water, and before sending for international mail (21 CFR 1.279). We prepare, check and file it for you from $25, and email the confirmation number your carrier needs.

Who uses us

  • Express courier shipments (DHL, FedEx, UPS ask for the PN number)
  • Samples and trade-show goods, which are not exempt
  • International mail and e-commerce sellers
  • Small exporters and anyone shipping without a customs broker

How it works

  1. Enter the shipment in your language, or reuse a saved profile.
  2. We check every field, registration numbers and the deadline for your transport mode.
  3. You approve exactly what will be filed (timestamped record).
  4. We file in FDA's Prior Notice System and email the confirmation number and PDF to you and your courier.

You supply and confirm all data and remain responsible for it. We never act as importer, owner or consignee and give no customs or legal advice. Liability is limited to the fee for that filing.
